Patua from Satpalsa

The Patuas or the Scroll Singers. prepare a series of painting generally based on mythology and sings the story with the help of pictures. Probably new gereration inspired by them in preparing "Power Point Presentation". This is going to become a obsolete art form and rare to find. He is from a remote village of birbhum and engaged as a professional in this art form for some generations. Paintings are made using vegetable dye traditionally.

Sripur, Ghurisha


Oldest remains of terracotta temple at Birbhum at Illambazar, Birbhum. Built in the year 1643 and sill stand with the time with little help from administration and locals.
